Information and measures taken at Memorial Coast Heart Institute in response to Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic

We are continually revising our response to Corona Virus (COVID19) pandemic based on information and guidelines from WHO, CDC, MSDH & MHG, and factors specific to our clinic, staff and patients.

If you have signs and symptoms indicative of Corona virus infection, have been in contact with individuals suspected or confirmed infected, or been to an area where Corona virus has been documented, and are scheduled for a doctor visit, test or procedure, We ask that you notify our staff by phone on (228) 863-5211 or (844) Heart 16

Most frequent questions and answers
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. Some people become infected but don’t develop any symptoms and don’t feel unwell.
Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness.
People may experience:
  • runny nose
  • sore throat
  • cough
  • fever
  • difficulty breathing (severe cases)

No. We regret that we our staff is neither trained nor equipped to manage this kind of pandemic disease.

Primary care healthcare provider will consult with your heart doctor If coronavirus affects your cardiovascular system or you have a pre-existing heart condition that requires attention.

You’re working Diligently to continue to provide Healthcare service to all of our patients who need it. However, several factors may affect our staffing availability, such as closures of schools and daycare facilities. We are continually review our schedules and evaluating on case-by-case basis. We will inform our patients who we might need to postpone their office visits, tests or procedures.

If you have respiratory symptoms or believe you have been exposed to coronavirus and have an appointment schedule with one of our healthcare providers, please inform Your primary care physician or nurse practitioner, or go to a walk-in clinic, and notify us immediately by phone on (228) 863-5211 or (844) Heart 16

Our staff can only discuss and provide information on heart and vascular disease to our existing patients as it relates to their conditions.

We advise everyone to be informed, cautious and vigilant, and to protect themselves and the people around them, and to avoid coming in contact or proximity of less than 6 feet of other people whenever possible. Tis is not possile at the clinic, so please let us know if you have symptoms or if you think you might have been exposed to the coronavirus.
